- Merged defences mean fewer but stronger buildings in a TH16 war base. Each one is worth planning an attack around, so where you put them decides the attack you face.
What a TH16 war base defends against
- Planned attacks that bring Throwers and save spells for the strongest merged defences.
- A hero and pet sent in first to clear an edge, with the rest of the army walking in behind them.
Common TH16 base mistakes
- A war base built around one strong core. Attackers at this level have the tools to break any single point.
- A Clan Castle that is easy to lure from the edge.
What makes a good TH16 war base
War and CWL attacks are planned. Your opponent scouts your base, picks an army for what they see and has three minutes to use it. A war base cannot count on surprise, so its job is to make three stars hard to get. The Town Hall sits near the middle, compartments are small enough that Wall Breakers open only one at a time, and the Clan Castle is deep enough that its troops come out late. When war bases fail, it is usually through a single gap that lets the attacker walk to the core from one side. Attackers at this level bring heroes with equipment, siege machines and enough spells to take out any single defence, and they plan around what they scout. A base here holds up by spreading its strength, not by guarding one strong point.
