What makes a good TH5 farming base
A farming base protects storages, not trophies. The Gold and Elixir Storages sit in the middle and the Dark Elixir Storage deepest of all, while the Town Hall is often left outside the walls. You accept losing some trophies, because while you are upgrading the loot matters more than your place in the league. At this level most attacks are simple ground armies of Giants, Barbarians, Archers and a few Wall Breakers, so intact walls and well-placed splash defences do most of the work. You will outgrow any design here quickly, so do not spend long perfecting one.
