What makes a good TH5 farming base

A farming base protects storages, not trophies. Gold and elixir storages move to the centre, the Dark Elixir storage deepest of all, and the Town Hall goes outside the walls where a snipe costs you a shield-worth of loot and nothing else. Losing trophies here is the intended trade: dropping down the ladder puts you against villages with more loot and weaker defences, which is the whole point of farming. At this level most attacks are still basic ground armies - giants, barbarians, archers and a few wall breakers - so intact walls and one or two well-placed splash defences do most of the work. Do not over-invest in a design here; you will outgrow it in weeks.

About Town Hall 5

• Town Hall 5 unlocks Wizard Tower, Healing Spell, so layouts here have to find room for them without opening up the core.
• Army camps hold 135 housing space at this level, which is what an attacker can bring against these bases.
