What's new at TH18
- The Guardian on the Town Hall is part of a TH18 war base design. It jumps down onto the first attackers in range, so the troops guarding the core decide how much damage it does.
- The Revenge Tower punishes war attacks that clear a lot of the base before they get to it.
What a TH18 war base defends against
- Attacks that open the outside of the base first and wake the Revenge Tower before reaching the core.
- Swarm armies, which have to get past two Super Wizard Towers.
Common TH18 base mistakes
- Grouping the Revenge Tower with the Monolith and other key defences, so one spell from the attacker hits all of them.
What makes a good TH18 war base
War and CWL attacks are planned. Your opponent scouts your base, picks an army for what they see and has three minutes to use it. A war base cannot count on surprise, so its job is to make three stars hard to get. The Town Hall sits near the middle, compartments are small enough that Wall Breakers open only one at a time, and the Clan Castle is deep enough that its troops come out late. When war bases fail, it is usually through a single gap that lets the attacker walk to the core from one side. Attackers at this level bring heroes with equipment, siege machines and enough spells to take out any single defence, and they plan around what they scout. A base here holds up by spreading its strength, not by guarding one strong point.
