What's new at TH18
- Town Hall 18 takes away the Town Hall's own weapon and gives it Guardians instead. These are defensive troops, one chosen at a time, that stand on the Town Hall and jump down to fight when attackers come in range.
- The Revenge Tower arrives. It gets stronger as more of the base is destroyed, and once it powers up it is one of the most destructive defences in the base.
- Wizard Towers merge into two Super Wizard Towers, whose attack chains through swarms and supporting troops.
What TH18 bases defend against
- Swarm attacks, which the Super Wizard Towers break up by chaining from one troop to the next.
- Dragons and Electro Dragons, which take heavy damage from the Super Wizard Towers.
- Attacks that clear large parts of the base before the core, which is exactly what wakes up the Revenge Tower.
Common TH18 base mistakes
- The Revenge Tower next to the Monolith or other big defences, where one Fireball takes them all. Keep them apart.
- A Revenge Tower on the edge, where attackers reach and destroy it before it has had a chance to power up.

Choosing a TH18 base
Which layout you want depends on what you are protecting. A war base is built to stop three stars from an attacker who scouted you first. A trophy base defends while you are offline against players skipping through opponents. A farming base gives up the Town Hall to keep the storages safe, because loot matters more than trophies while you are upgrading. A hybrid does both jobs a little worse than either, and it is often the right choice while you cannot afford to lose either one. Attackers at this level bring heroes with equipment, siege machines and enough spells to take out any single defence, and they plan around what they scout. A base here holds up by spreading its strength, not by guarding one strong point.
