What makes a good TH9 war base
War and CWL attacks are planned. Your opponent scouts your base, picks an army for what they see and has three minutes to use it. A war base cannot count on surprise, so its job is to make three stars hard to get. The Town Hall sits near the middle, compartments are small enough that Wall Breakers open only one at a time, and the Clan Castle is deep enough that its troops come out late. When war bases fail, it is usually through a single gap that lets the attacker walk to the core from one side. This is where the common attack strategies start. Attackers bring Hog Riders, then Lava Hounds and Bowlers as they level, along with a full Clan Castle and heroes, so the compartments matter more than the level of any one defence.
